An antique sterling silver tea strainer spoon by London, England silversmith George William Adams, active from 1840 to 1883. It features a pierced basin in a sunburst design with acanthus scrolls, and the handle has a shell motif to the end with scrolled foliage. To the verso, the spoon is marked with ‘GA’ for George William Adams, the London leopard city mark, the sterling standard lion passant, a ‘T’ for year 1854, and a Queen Victorian duty mark. Overall weight for the spoon is approximately 2.350 ozt.
