An antique double action pepperbox pistol by the Washington Arms Co., circa 1850. This firearm features a .31 caliber, a blued steel frame with floral scroll designs and a 3.5-inch fluted cylinder of six smooth bore barrels stamped ‘cast steel,’ a double action percussion hammer stamped ‘The Washington Arms Co.,’ trigger guard and walnut grips. The Washington Arms Co. was a trade name used by W.W. Marston of New York City, a firm which manufactured similar firearms in the 19th century. A padded vinyl case is included.
