A signed hand-colored photograph by David Davidson (American, 1881-1967). Titled The Barefoot Boy, this early 20th century photograph depicts a boy walking toward the viewer down a dirt path, passing under a cherry blossom tree. The piece is titled at the lower left margin and signed by the artist in the lower right margin. Framed and mounted on mat under glass with hanging wire to back.

David Davidson (American, 1881-1967) worked alongside Wallace Nutting and later opened the David Davidson Studio in 1907 in Rhode Island. He produced millions of hand-colored photographs until the studio’s closing in the mid-century.

Condition

Photo is in good condition. The paper mount has two water stains, and foxing throughout.
