A signed limited edition offset lithograph of a painting by contemporary well-listed American wildlife artist John Ruthven (Cincinnati, born 1924), titled African Elephants. African Elephants is from Ruthven’s 1975 Safari Series, Plate II. The print depicts a mother and baby elephant wading through shallow water together, drinking from its depths, and cooling their thick dry skin. The title is printed to the lower center and signed in pencil to the lower right with number 1117 of 5000 to the lower left. It is professionally framed to museum standards by the West Chester House Gallery – under glass with double mats in black and raw umber and presented in a dimensional wood frame. The verso features the original rice paper bio and image and a wire for hanging.

The fame has a few nicks.
