Vintage pair of never used handmade Gentleman’s brown leather Edwin Clapp ‘New Englander’ shoes with brown lace ups. Includes the original green and black plaid shoe bag with signature mark that reads ‘The Edwin Clapp Shoe’ in yellow gold with Crown. Edwin Clapp was a great American classic that made exquisite handcrafted shoes. The Company was founded in the early part of the 1800’s in East Weymouth, Massachusetts. At that time, New England was considered America’s version of England’s shoe making capital, Northampton. By the middle of the 19th century, Edwin Clapp became a shoe making operation with shoes often taking many weeks to complete one pair.
