"I Always Did 'Spise a Mule" Vintage Book of Knowledge Mechanical Bank
Item Details
A vintage mechanical "I Always Did ‘Spise a Mule" coin bank. This reproduction cast iron bank was produced in the 1960’s by Book of Knowledge from an original 1879 piece. The bank consists of a jockey in red and black clothing riding a brown colored mule. The green and brown base is decorated with the raised caption "I Always Did ’Spise a Mule". When a quarter is placed in the mouth of the jockey, the mule then bucks the rider and the coin falls into the bank.
Condition
- Some patina to the painted finish
-The horse’s back legs do not connect to the base as intended. It appears to only need some slight repair to fix this issue.
