A vintage cast iron Good Luck Billiken coin bank. Originally created by American art teacher and illustrator, Florence Pretz, the Billiken is thought to bring good luck and chase away frowns. This piece shows the Billiken sitting on the ‘Church of Good Luck’ throne with ‘Billiken, Good Luck’ written on the steps at his feet. The bank was made by The Billiken Company of Chicago, IL.

Condition

Consistent with age and use. Some chipping of paint and rust on metal.
