A pair of original watercolor paintings one labeled Antigua and a townscape painting by James Kirk Merrick. This features two paintings placed in the same with one view on the front and the other on the verso. The painting on the front is titled Antigua depicting an incoming storm over a valley which is depicted in the center of the painting. The palm tree leaves blow back as the storm approaches . The artist signature is the in lower right corner of the painting as well as the title. On the verso, a townscape is depicted homes with locals walking down a residential street with a blue sky and palm trees blowing in the wind. Both paintings are presented in a off-white matting and brown wooden frame and hanging hardware is included on the verso.
Condition
- four holes forming a small squares in corners; some wear to frame; possible water damage to matting; some matting along the top of the painting on the back.
