Antique Union Case

Item Details

An antique Union Case from the mid to late 1800’s. This hinged case dates to the Civil War era, and opens up to reveal a tin gold mat decorated with the american shield and leaves with a glass cover on each side of the case. It also Includes an ambrotype of a man and a woman. The dark brown gutta-percha frame box is decorated in a relief motif. The case retains the manufacturer’s original paper insert, which reads, Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Manufacturers of Daguerreotype Cases with Embracing Riveret Hinges.

Condition

- the left side picture glass is loose in the case and falls out.
