Antique Union Case

An antique ‘Union Case’ from the mid to late 1800’s This hinged case dates to the Civil War era, and opens up to reveal a tin mat and glass cover with swirled design with burgundy velvet to the other side of the case. This dark brown gutta-percha frame box depicts a man and a woman playing a board game in a relief motif. The case retains the manufacturer’s original paper insert, which reads, Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Manufacturers of Daguerreotype Cases with Embracing Riveret Hinges.

Condition

Good – there is a hole in the velvet on the left side
