Oil Painting on Canvas Attributed To Arpad Schmidhammer
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas attributed to German artist Arpad Schmidhammer (1857-1921). The woman is depicted wearing white full sleeves, red dress over top, and an orange tone hair accessory. She sits in a three-quarter profile towards the left and her brown eyes gaze away from the viewer. This piece comes presented in a gilt wooden frame. To the verso, an inscription the frame reads ‘Mrs. Dayton 20 1/4 × 24 1/8’ while an inscription on top stretch reads ’ Mrs. Lucy Dalon Fowaude #403 Nov 11’. A stylized ‘S’ and ‘A’ monogram has been placed on the canvas backing and matches that of the artist Arpad Schmidhammer. A horizontal hanging wire is installed and the piece is ready to be hung.
