19th Century Rococo Revival Parlor Chair Attributed to John Jelliff

A 19th Century rococo revival parlor chair. This chair features many rococo revival characteristic of the furniture attributed to American craftsman John Jellif (1813-1893) including the female busts on the armrests, the male bust centered in the chair’s pediment, turned ornate front legs, brass caster wheel feet, tufted back splat and armrests and acanthus leaf accents throughout. The seat cushion, arm rests and back splat are upholstered in a beige fabric, bordered with a decorative stitch pattern along the seams.
