The image depicts a log cabin situated near the edge of a vast lake surrounded by an evergreen forest and huge slate mountains in the distance. Artist signature is signed in dark paint to the lower right. The painting is mounted in a beveled wood frame with cast borders and a distressed gilt finish.

- craquelure throughout painting. Light accretion on painting surface and frame. Finish of frame is worn and chipped throughout.
