Pair of Louis Davril Etching Aquatint "Le Moulin Rose" and "Le Russian En Hiver"

A pair of colored etching aquatints on tan paper titled Le Moulin Rose (The Rose Mill) and Le Russian en Hiver (The Russian Winter) by artist Louis Davril (1873 – 1962). The first piece depicts a European rural scene with water mill, tree and wooden wheel contiguous to a red terracotta pastoral house; with green fields and distant townscape within blue skies. The second piece depicts a Russian wintry scene with flowing creek situated to the lower area of the composition alongside a woman from a posterior perspective walking amongst snowy lands and defoliated tree forest. Both pieces are graphite signed ‘L. Davril’ to the lower right corner and titled respectively to the lower left corner. The pieces are presented on tan paper behind glass in a wood frame with gilt leaf-like accents. There is a wire attached to each verso and the pieces are ready to hang.

- wear and abrasion to edges of both frames; stains on glasses.
