Occupied Japan, Haviland and Chinese Teacups

A collection of occupied Japan, Haviland and Chinese teacups and matching saucers. This set includes 8 teacups with matching saucers in descending sizes. The largest set features fruit and periwinkle stripes on its surface. The bottom of the cup and saucer have a logo on them and are marked ‘Made in Japan’. The set that features gold tone detailing at the cup handle, the trims and the inner border of the saucer also has gold toned and pink floral patterns. The bottom of this set is marked ‘Made in Japan’. The set with rosettes at the rim of the cup and saucer and worn gilt trims features slight scalloping in six places in the saucers rim. This set is marked at the bottom ‘Haviland & Co. Limoges. H&Co. L. France’. The cup that holds knitted pink faux flowers with leaves is marked ‘Made in China’. One set features a red painted border at the rim of the cup and saucer, beneath that are floral designs. The saucer has the image of an Asian style building with sail boat in water at the foreground. These pieces are unmarked. the set with gold toned trim at the edges of both the cup and saucer, beneath that, the cup has a green band. The saucer features the image of a red brick building,around which is marked, ‘Barbara Fritche’s House. Frederick, MD’. The bottoms of these pieces are marked ‘Made in Japan’. The Occupied Japan set features a pink and gold toned scalloped border around the cup and saucer. At the center of the cup and one side of the saucer can be found a small rose detail with leaves. The bottom of these pieces is marked ‘Occupied Japan’. The tiniest set is green and white. The saucer has a simple green line trim. The cup has this same trim, but also features vining leaves across one side of it. This set is unmarked.
