Antique Edison Model 250 Diamond Disc Phonograph

An antique Chippendale style Edison model 250 Diamond Disc phonograph. This piece has a mahogany frame with a top that lifts up to display the phonograph, which is hand crank operated. The interior of the top features the maker’s marks and displays a medallion that reads ‘The Model 250 Diamond Disc Phonograph is the Official Laboratory Model’. The exterior is decorated by fretwork in the Chippendale style, and the lower cabinet contains a collection of records and includes a key. The phonograph was purchased in 1919 from B. Sapp Furniture Co. in Danville, KY, and it comes with the original receipt and a catalog.
