1940s Philco Radio Cabinet With Record Player

Item Details

A vintage Philco radio with record turntable. The vintage radio, model 46-1226, dates to the mid-1940s, and is made of wood with wood veneers, stained a walnut color. The radio window and dials are near the top, on a slanted surface, between the sides, which are rounded at the corners. A speaker is housed below the knob and dial panel, and is covered with woven brown and tan fabric, behind vertical wood slats. The cabinet rests on straight, short legs with rounded sides. The panel is marked ‘Philco’ in gold lettering above, with brown plastic dials to either side of the tuner window. A gray metal record turntable is housed behind the speaker window, which is accessed by folding down the hinged front panel. The original paper label is affixed to the inside of the cabinet, with a diagram showing the model number, along with placement instructions and part numbers for a variety of components.
