Limited Edition Shikō Munakata Signed "Hawk Woman" Woodblock
Item Details
A limited edition Shikō Munakata (棟方志功, Japan 1903-1975) signed Hawk Woman woodblock print. The piece depicts a nude woman with a hawk perched on her hand. The printed is dated 1958 and numbered 189/200. The piece is matted in white and presented in a thin silver toned frame. Shikō Munakata was a woodblock printmaker during the Shōwa period (1926-1989) in Japan. He was an important figure in the sōsaku-hanga (creative prints) and mingei (folk art) movements in Japan.
