Signed "Flowers" Painting by Artist Francis Focer Brown
Item Details
An original oil on board titled Flowers signed by well-listed Indiana artist Francis Focer Brown (1891–1971). The still life painting depicts a bouquet of pink daisies loosely arranged in a blue bulb vase that sits upon a purple cloth. A toy horse stands near the base. Signed to the lower left corner. The painting is mounted within a gilt wood frame with a wire and estate stamp verso. Francis Brown studied with William Forsyth and J.Otis Adams at the John Herron School. Brown was a quite versatile artist, and his paintings range from simple landscapes to the post-impressionist style which has earned him the comparison, “The American Van Gogh”(Via askart.com).
