Hiroyuki Tajima "Melodious Wall A" Signed Limited Edition Woodcut Print

A signed limited edition woodcut print titled Melodious Wall c.1971 by Japanese printmaker from the sōsaku-hanga school, Hiroyuki Tajima (1911–1984). Tajima is known for his abstract woodblock prints that feature luminous colors, bold compositions, and a strong sense of balance inspired by his Zen Buddhist beliefs. Melodious Wall features two rectangular forms with light green accents throughout and two smaller black rectangular forms in the center on a deep red background. This piece is pencil signed by the artist in the lower margin along with the title, Japanese characters, ‘50-4’, and date. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
