Item Details
An original ink and watercolor illustration on paper by well-listed American artist Herman Henry Wessel (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1878 – 1969). A handwritten note at the base reads, ‘Dear Friends, Painting pictures aint no easy matter out here these days — hope you all are well. The Wessels.’ The illustration is matted in white nad presented behind glass in a composite frame with brushed gold tone finish and a hanging wire. Wessel studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy in the late 1800s with other well-published artists such as Caroline Lord and Frank Duveneck, and later taught at the Art Academy for over 40 years.
