An original mixed media resin painting by Cincinnati artist Suzanne Fisher, titled The Empress Theodora (New Mosaic Version), dated 1994. This stunning work features mosaic glass, marbles, metal pieces, and bits of mirror pieced together and set in clear resin to create a portrait of the 6th-century ruler, Theodora. It appears the artist affixed an image of Theodora’s face to glass, then broke it and reconstructed the pieces for this work. Three dimensional and luminescent, this sparkling and fascinating work is presented in a gilt frame with hanging wire as well as title and artist’s signature present to verso.

Condition

- some wear present to finish of frame which may be intentional.
