In his 40 year career with Disney Animation Studios, Kent was credited with maintaining the company’s image of their best known character, Mickey Mouse. He helped to train scores of artists on drawing the Mouse correctly and consistently, allowing the brand standards to permeate through the animation team. This sketch, addressed to someone named Murph, features the smiling bust of Scrooge McDuck, wearing his signature spectacles and top hat. The picture has a hand-written inscription that reads ‘To: Murph, Best Wishes, From: Uncle $crooge! And me! Ralph Kent’, and is dated 5/19/84.
