Antique Russian Copper Chafing Dish

Item Details

A hand wrought antique copper chafing dish with attached claw feet and handles made of brass. The bowl section has old seam work and is hand constructed. The brass claw feet and handles are riveted to the body, and appear to be later editions. The bottom of vessel is stamped in Russian ‘APB… осквы’ the last word of which, worn down, appears to indicate MOCKBЪ for Moscow, and whose last letter ‘Ъ’ was used until the 1917 revolution. The maker’s mark is illegible.

Condition

- fair. There are some wear marks due to use.
