Original Picasso Lithograph "Buste de Faun"
Item Details
An original lithograph from the ‘dean of modernism,’ Pablo Picasso. This lithograph is entitled ‘Buste de Faune,’ after the ‘Femmes et Faunes,’ portfolio of original drawings by Picasso. The portfolio was produced in an edition of 200 by Au Vent d’Arles, Paris, in 1956, printed by Daniel Jacomet. The print features a wonderfully playful, and rather simple lithographic reproduction of one of the original drawings. The bust of a smiling Faune is rendered in simple primary color lines. The print is signed in plate to the upper left hand corner, along with the watermark ‘Ceci est une reproduction, Picasso,’ which was specially made paper, commissioned by Picasso so that falsifications could not be made. Presented in wooden frame with black paint and a golden border to inner edge, with a single white mat. There is a certificate of authenticity to the verso in an attached plastic bag that is guaranteed by The Hubert Gallery and signed by Hubert Gallery’s Chris Neptune.
