An original silver gelatin photograph taken on August 13, 1969 in New York City at the homecoming parade thrown for the return of Apollo 11 astronauts Edwin ‘Buzz’ E. Aldrin, Jr., Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong. The photograph was taken by artist Lynne Shavelson Here, the astronauts ride down the street in a black convertible past a large crowd as ticker tape falls from the sky around them. The photograph is mounted to a white matboard backing and is signed, dated, and located by the artist. It is unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation.

Condition

- light foxing and accretion to piece’s matting. A few areas of silver mirroring are beginning to develop.
