Collection of Vintage Tools with Stirrups
Item Details
A pair of vintage carpenter’s hammers and two equestrian stirrups. The larger hammer is a handmade, hand-forged hammer with a rough branch handle. The smaller hammer has unusual designed peen with claw configuration mounted on machine turned wooden handle. The hand-forged black stirrup dates to 18th century and was primarily a side saddle stirrup with a pierced design. The layered lath stirrup dates to the early 20th century.
Condition
- both hammers have some damage to the handles; the small hammer has broken claw; the cast iron stirrup has been painted black; there is some deterioration to the laminated stirrup.
