An original colored etching titled München, Altes Rathaus The composition depicts the Old Town Hall in Munich and Marienplatz square. The piece is pencil signed ‘P. Schwertus’ (?) in the lower right corner and annotated ‘Orig. -Rad.’, which translates to original etching. It is titled in pencil in the lower left corner. The etching is presented behind glass and under a white mat. It is housed in a silver-toned, wood frame with a bracket on the back for hanging. The back retains a label printed ‘B. Koestler / Kunsthandlung. Gegr. 1864 / Eigene Rahmenwerkstätten / München, Maximilianstr. 34’.

Condition

- some foxing to etching; verso retains a triangular bracket for hanging.
