Stickley Style Quarter-Sawn Oak Prairie Settle

Item Details

A hand-crafted Arts and Crafts style, ‘Prairie Settle’, in quarter-sawn oak with fumed finish; stamped ‘Warren Hile Studio, Sierra Madre, CA’, on the back, right-hand corner. The planked rail back and arms are supported on square spindled galleries, across the back and sides. Corbeled brackets support the arms on the front, sides and back. The settle has three back, two arm and one seat cushion, all upholstered in a heavy weight, brown leather. The original (1914) design was by Peter Hansen, for L. & J.G. Stickley, See 16CIN340-640 through 643, for companion pieces.
