Early 1900s Leedy Vaudeville Drum Kit and Case

Item Details

A Leedy Vaudeville drum kit from the early 1900s, from the founder of Duplicate X, Dudley Taw’s, private collection. Per seller, this was acquired from Frank’s Drum Shop, a famous music store in Chicago; and was used in the Chicago theater district for Vaudeville performances and provided sound for films during the silent movie era. The kit is made up of two rack toms, a Chinatype bass drum and a Reliance Model snare drum. Being one of the original Vaudeville style drum kit, this piece contains several features not used in modern designs; including a wool kick pedal cover and a dual point felt sound dampener. The original case for this piece is included, as well as the original sticks and mallets.
