A vintage retro modern brooch and earring set featuring gold washed metal and amber colored rhinestones. Retro Modern jewelry was made from the mid-1930s through the late 1940s. Designers at the time were influenced by the cultural influences surrounding World War II. Metals were scarce as well as precious gems due to the cost of war, resulting in the birth of ‘cocktail’, or ‘costume’ jewelry. These pieces are unmarked.
