An antique hand-colored crayon portrait circa 1865, depicting a Civil War Union Officer in wearing his official navy blue uniform coat with gold shoulder fringe and gold buttons, a slouch hat on his head. He is clean-shaven with a stylish mustache and steely blue eyes. This portrait is protected beneath antique hand-rolled glass and mounted in an antique wood frame with coving and a dark green finish with gold leaf interior and exterior trim. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.

Condition

- condition consistent with age. Frame is damaged along interior and exterior edges; finish is lifting and chipped off throughout. Discoloration across portrait, increasing around outer edges.
