A set of four antique Gothic Revival oak North Wind hall chairs from 1880s Germany. The chairs feature the image of a lion’s head carved into the back rest. The backs are made from two solid wooden pieces joined by wooden dowels, as well as the seats. They rest on four spindle legs turned in a steam powered lathe and with four supporting rungs. The pieces have the original boot black darkening and have not been varnished since.
One rung is missing from one of the chairs.
