1959 Sligh "Thomas Harland" Tall Case Clock

A Thomas Harland tall case clock, by Sligh, model number 0856-1-TH. This is a twentieth century reproduction, named after the great American clockmaker Harland (1735-1807). It is part of the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village American Life Collection. It features a curving broken pediment with three removable brass toned finials, a top case, with a glass fronted door behind which it a replica Harwood face and dial, upon a tall tapered body, that flares to the base that sits upon four short splayed feet. Constructed of a mahogany finished wood, with delicate lighter wood inlay. A brass registration plaque dates to 1959.
