A Mid Century Modern naugahyde recliner chaise. This one-piece ergonomic chaise features a tufted backrest and a curved seat and leg rest. This “Danish Modern Contoura” was manufactured by the Contour Lounge Chair Company of St. Louis and was a popular chair during the 50s and 60s. In 1951, this style of chair was featured in a photograph of Marilyn Monroe for Look Magazine. (See link below.) The orange-rust naugahyde features a subtle leaf motif. It reclines by a pull to the wooden lever on the lower left side and allows for variable positions for both the back and leg rests. It is supported by flared legs of solid walnut. This item is located on the main level of the home.

Condition
Slight separation at a seam on the right arm. No other rips or tears noted. Reclining mechanism works easily.
