1875 First Edition of "Roderick Hudson" by Henry James

An 1875 first edition of Henry James’ first novel, Roderick Hudson. This classic bildungsroman was published in November of 1875 by James R. Osgood and Company of Boston, however, all of these were printed with the date ‘1876.’ Only one printing of this first edition was ever issued, with around 1500 copies in total. It is bound in leather with raised bands and gilt ornamentation to both spine and cover.

- outer front hinge is broken; outer back hinge is cracking; general wear and scratching to leather; dampstained; inscriptions from assumed previous owner(s) to interior.
