Antique Eastlake Secretary

Item Details

An antique Eastlake secretary. The walnut secretary has a tall narrow top, which features a glass enclosed two shelf bookcase and a wider cube-shaped base. The top and bottom portions of the piece are connected by a slant front desk section. When the top is lowered, on the desk, a leather topped writing surface along with many pigeon holes and drawers are exposed. The bottom section of the pieces features three drawers, with Knapp joints, burled walnut overlay and wooden carved leaf and fruit handles. The same handles are found on the drawers within the desk. Overall the desk decorated the incised decoration.
