Antique Japanese Tea Ceremony Kama Kettle and Furo Brazier

An antique Japanese bronze and cast iron kama (釜) kettle and furo (風炉) portable brazier used during Japanese tea ceremony. The cast iron furo brazier sits upon four short feet, and looped ring handles attached at the shoulder with foliate brackets. Each side features an opening, one a large elongated trefoil, and the other a smaller circle. The lip features a band of alternating pierced designs. The cast iron kama sits upon the furo brazier and features a hailstone pattern and small loop handles. It is topped by a finely cast bronze lid with a stylized floral finial with openwork detail. Neither piece is marked.
