Qing Dynasty Mandarin Summer Hat in Silk with Red Tassel in Hand Woven Rattan Hat Box

Item Details

A Qing Dynasty (19th century) conical Mandarin Summer hat having a bamboo frame covered with a seamless piece of white silk gauze, gold brocade trim at the edge and a twisted red silk tassel descending from the peak of the hat having a gold gilt finial indicating a high rank. The hat has been stored in the original hand woven rattan fitted hat box.

Condition

There is one darkened spot to the beige silk on the hat, the hat box is in very good condition.
