A pair of sterling silver handled utensils. This includes a cuticle knife blade by Simons Brothers (established circa 1840, Philadelphia, PA), with a sterling silver handle decorated in a heavy floral repoussé design, married to a steel blade. This is marked with the maker’s mark of an ‘S’ in an upside down bell form, ‘Sterling’, and worn numbers. The second piece in this pairing is a serving fork by The Stieff Company (established 1904, Baltimore, MD). This features four tines, a deep bowl, a decorated shoulder, a stepped edge stem, and a tear drop handle with openwork scrolling foliates. It is marked ‘Sterling- Stieff’.
