An original oil on canvas by Cincinnati artist Dixie Hammond Caldwell (1934-2007). This charming work features beautiful blooming foliage in a park, bordered by a brick wall to the lower portion, and trees to the background. The flowers in the scene are bright and saturated tones of red, orange, and purple, their vivid green stalks filling the negative space. Signed in paint to lower right, this work is presented in a unique gilt frame with ornate foliate borders. Painting is accompanied by a pamphlet about the artist. Hanging wire present to verso.
