Oswaldo Guayasamín Sterling Silver Necklace and Ring

A sterling silver necklace and ring designed by Ecuadorian master painter, sculptor, and jewelry designer, Oswaldo Guayasamín (1919 – 1999). The necklace features a silver pendant in a shape reminiscent of an anchor or blade. The bottom center of the pendant features a drop cabochon bezel setting of serpentine. The beautifully hand-crafted bar chain has an s-hook closure. The pendant is stamped to reverse ‘Taller – Guayasamín.’ The ring features three raised conular bezel settings of round cut citrine stones on a wide shank that tapers slightly to the bottom. The ring is stamped on the inner shank ‘Guayasamín.’ The total combined approximate silver weight of these items inclusive of settings is 1.003 ozt.

  • These items have been tested and verified by an independent GIA graduate gemologist.

Condition

- some surface scratching; slight discoloration on pendant in a few spots; tool marks present on chain; small chip in one citrine on the ring.

Dimensions

- measured items as a group; ring size is approximately 8; – the ring’s shank is approximately 0.5" wide; the three round citrines in the ring range approximately 4.5 mm to 4.9 mm; the approximate length of the necklace chain unclasped inclusive of closure is 26"; oval cabochon in the necklace measures approximately 9.7 mm x 7.6 mm; total combined approximate silver weight of these items inclusive of settings is 1.003 ozt.
