A handwoven Indo-Persian Kashan-style area rug. This rug features an ivory field with a foliate and vine pattern in carmine red, tan, cornflower, bright and deep blue, rust and black, with highlights in pale peach and green. It has compound floral guard borders, and a main border in taupe with a large lotus and palmette pattern in the same palette. It has a wool warp fringe to either end, and is tagged ‘Kashan’ to reverse.
