A pair of chromolithographs from Paris Dans Sa Splendeur folio after engraver Phillipe Benoist. The prints depict French landmark urban scenes that were originally published as a three volume set in 1861 by Henri Charpentier in Nantes with the subtitle, ‘Monuments, Vues, Scenes Historique’. Benoist (1813-ca1885) is a noted French artist who is recognized for his intricately detailed views of landmark buildings and monuments.These chromolithographs enhanced with hand coloring are presented under glass with hand colored and lined mats in antiqued gold wood frames. Both have a wire to the back for hanging. Illustrations featured are, Palais de L’industrie, Entree Principale and Hotel et Musee de Cluny.
