Japanese Meiji Period (circa 1900) Hand Painted Silk Katzome, Child's Kimono in Pale Blue

A late Meiji period hand painted Katzome (child’s kimono) in whisper thin pale blue silk with a padded hem. The sweet little kimono is illustrated with flowers and a crested bird at the back with a black silk lining and an attached belt at the waist. The family crest medallion is found at the back of the collar.

Condition

The antique silk child’s kimono is in excellent condition, it appears to have never been worn as evidence by the loose stitched strings at the back of the collar.

33.0" W x 35.0" H x 1.0" D

The width measurement includes the sleeves outstretched. The shoulder to shoulder measurement is 13" and the sleeve length is 26.5
