1950s Bokhara Rug

Item Details

A 1950s Bokhara area rug. This rug features a ruby field with four alternating rows of repeating Tekke gul and Chemche medallions in indigo, russet orange and cream. The central field is framed by multiple outer borders having floral and diamond-shaped forms, flanking a principal border with alternating russet and cream star medallions. There are complex borders to either end with a natural wool warp and overcast side selvages. The maker is unknown.
