An original acrylic painted photo transfer on canvas by listed contemporary French artist Nicole Sébille (1949-), titled À la Bastille. This painting is a beautiful example of Sébille’s body of work, which often features heavily textured paint applied directly with a palette knife. In this image, a contemporary photograph The Place de la Bastille is overlaid with painted old-timey imagery of figures, buildings, and more, beautifully juxtaposing the city’s modern charm and remarkable historic significance. The painting is signed in red paint to the lower right, and is also signed and titled to the verso. It is presented without framing, but has painted edges for easy presentation.
