Original 19th Century Nocturne Seascape Oil Painting on Canvas
Item Details
A large original 19th century nocturne seascape oil painting on canvas, possibly the work of listed German painter, Tobias Andreae (1823 – 1873). A sailing ship and other smaller boats are visible in the foreground, and the moon is rising through the clouds. The painting is signed in the lower right corner, appearing to read, ‘Andreae’. The piece is framed in an ornate gold frame, with a paper label and writing on the verso.
Condition
There is a notable repair to the canvas in the lower right corner below the signature. There are some chips and cracks to the frame.
