Meiji Period Signed Kiseru (Japanese Smoking Pipe) with Carved Holder and Tobacco Pouch

A Meiji period Japenese kiseru (tobacco pipe), signed at the clasp Ichiyama Massa, made of bamboo and fitted in a hand carved wooden mount with an alligator pouch. The carved pipe holder illustrates stylized flowers and a dog curled in a ball at the cap end. The alligator pouch in dark blown is attached to the pipe holder by black silk thread and an agate bead. The clasp shows a masted ship with gold and copper inlay detailing.
Condition
Slight wear to the tobacco pouch.
