Collection of Vintage Beer Steins and Mugs
Item Details
A collection of seven vintage ceramic beer steins and mugs. These include a figural stein depicting a man inside a barrel, with text reading ‘Mann argere deine Frau nicht!’ (‘Man, do not anger your woman!’); two traditional German steins with hand-colored low relief figures; a white stein with a hand-painted scene of a man removing his hat as a woman passes by in a horse-drawn carriage; a blue mug with a hinged metal lid and a scrolling leaf design; and a pair of mugs with images of German castles and monuments. Most pieces are marked ‘Made in Germany’ to the underside.
Condition
- one stein has its lid detached from hinge, a few minor chips to figural stein.
